I’m Joining in on SnippoWriMo (and my new Snippet is almost done!)
I’m excited to share that the Snippet App–the reading and publishing app I’ve talked about before–is hosting SnippoWriMo this month. (I’m joining in and am looking forward to having my second Snippet published. It’s called Little Bits & Pieces of Happiness and was inspired by this story about my daughter Katie. More info on that to come when it’s available for download!)
If you’re a writer, I’m sure you’ve heard of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month); after all, it’s the biggest writing event in the world and takes place every November. While I’ve never joined in on NaNoWriMo, I’ve written two novels–one took me a full year, and the other took way longer than that!–so I truly admire the dedication it takes to craft a work like that in one month. I also love the sense of community and support that NaNoWriMo fosters.
Inspired by NaNoWriMo, SnippoWriMo invites writers, authors, bloggers, and anyone who has an idea, story, or expertise they want to share, to sign up this month to create a Snippet. You don’t have to finish it by the end of the month, although you could if you wanted to; Snippets are shorter than books (1,000 words or less per chapter, and you decide the number of chapters).
If you want to join me in SnippoWriMo, you are more than welcome! Just head over to the SnippoWriMo page, sign up, get your participation badge, and start creating! It’s totally free. Whether or not you joined in on NaNoWriMo, and whether or not you finished, you’re invited to participate in SnippoWriMo. And you don’t have to already be published to create a Snippet, either.
If you want to learn more, you can check out Snippet’s FAQ page for more details. And you can also download the Snippet App onto your iOS device for free if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet: Get the App here.
Feel free to leave any questions you might have in the comments here too and I’ll be happy to answer them!
And a side note: this is not a sponsored post and I’m not getting compensation for writing it. I’m just sharing a new, fun way for writers to share their voice and their AMAZING work.
