Mighty, Magic Mommy

My daughter gave me a coffee mug a while ago that I absolutely love.

Not only because it’s big and holds a lot of coffee,

but because it has a mistake on it.

It’s painted with a C where there should be a G…

It’s flawed, but it’s one of my favorite mugs.

Because it’s a perfect reminder of what being a mom is like sometimes…

I don’t always feel mighty,

and I’m not magic. (Even though when I’m staring down a mountain-high pile of laundry, I wish I was.)

I’m not perfect, either.

But, that’s okay.

Because on the other side of the mug, it says, “You’re my hero”…

and that’s one of the best things about being a mom. :)

What about you? What do you love most about being a mom? What flaws or imperfections have you struggled with along the way?

Note: We had family over this weekend and a neighborhood party, so I didn’t have time to write a post for today. I’m putting this one up from the archives instead. I still have this mug, and I still love it!

I hope you all have a great day!

  1. What a precious mug! I love cuddling with my children after a long day at work. I love that they show me love, even when I've raised my voice at them. They always point me to see how Jesus loves me.

  2. More than anything I love watching my children grow in life. My parenting has been far less than perfect but I have raised amazing kids :)

  3. This is too funny. When I first saw it, I thought of my nephew. His name is Mitchell and my brother and his wife call him Mitchy. So here I thought of finding where you got it! LOLBut your post is so true. Motherhood isn't about being perfect, having all the right answers, or doing everything correctly. Its about getting down and dirty, playing and monkeying around. I have many things about motherhood that I love, but most of all is the unconditional love I receive daily!
