7 Quick Takes Friday

1.

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s been a busy and fun week around our house, filled with trips to the water park, camps, soccer, swim team, acting class, and a whole lot of time in the pool. I hope you had a great week too. Can you believe summer is already coming to an end?

2.

Speaking of summer, here’s a refreshing treat to check out. I just found out about a special offer from Jamba Juice that I thought I’d share. Stop by Sarah’s place to read the details.

3.

I’m over at 5 Minutes for Faith today talking about living cheerfully. I’m also over in DivineCaroline.com’s Home & Food section (I found out a couple of days ago that my cookie post was selected as a feature article for the front page of that section). Stop by and say hi if you have a minute!

4.

It seems like it’s all about the pets around our house lately. The other day, I found my daughter and our cat in the closet. When I asked her what she was doing she said, “I’m teaching Chester how to do homework.”

By the looks of it, I’d say Chester isn’t much of a student. :)

5.

Does anyone else out there watch the show called Food Network Challenge? It’s been a favorite in our house this summer, especially with my daughter. She loves seeing the pastry chefs and chocolate artists sculpt their designs. And she recently made a few of her own (out of clay)…

I love the little one-eyed sardines, but I think my favorite might be the bowl of spaghetti and mini meatballs. Yum. :)

6.

Since we’re talking about food, I thought I’d share a health and nutrition blog I found out about this week: Kelly the Kitchen Kop. Click here to read a post about good foods for your baby.

7.

A quick note of thanks to all who have been stopping by for Mom-Monday and participating. I’ve gotten feedback recently from people who have appreciated and learned from the comments that other moms have left. If you haven’t had a chance to pop by and join in, I’d love to see you here. You don’t have to have a blog to participate. And you don’t have to have all the answers, either. None of us do. So let’s come alongside each other, learn from each other, and encourage each other while we are at it. :)

  5. Your daughter has talent!! Maybe someday I'll see HER on the Food Network Challenge. I love that show!!

  6. The cat in the closet thing made me LOL. It reminded me of my husband's "cat in the closet" story. He used to take his very large feline into the closet with him, close the door, and proceed to eat the entire bag of Jiffy Pop popcorn. Does anyone remember those things you cooked on the stove?

  7. Oh yea, we are fans of the Food Network Challenges in our house. Did you happen to catch the one where they had to build Sesame Street cakes? It was awesome! Nothing like seeing a 4-foot big bird made of cake. Have a fabulous weekend!
