The Red Plate Tradition for pets?
Remember when I told you about the Red Plate tradition we have in our family?
My daughter has already begun to pass it on…
to our cat. :)
Charlie turned one year old recently with a big celebration, complete with balloons (that my daughter insisted on getting and paying for with her own money–it was pretty cute)…
a catnip present (that she paid for too)…
and a birthday cake made out of wet food and treats–on one of our Red Plates…
“Get the video camera!” she insisted, gathering us together to sing Happy Birthday.
And yes,
I admit,
I did get the camera,
and we did sing.
I’m not sure if Charlie felt special or not.
But our daughter did.
And that’s what matters, right? :)
Oh I think that is so very sweet that she did that! Children do love birthday celebrations, my daughter is the same and for me, a person who historically has not been overenthusiastic about birthdays, it has added a new dimension and joy to every such event, even my own :-) I love the birthday cake she made!
We have this very plate too! Love that your daughter has such a tender and loving heart toward not only the people in her life, but the family cat too. :)
That is so sweet and totally something that my son would do. :)
So sweet. Our daughter insists on having parties for our animals too. Love it!
LOVE IT! No reason not to use the red plate for ALL family members!
That is so very sweet!!! We have a party for Madaline's kitties as well as for her beloved bear. It's just one more reason to celebrate and have cake!
How sweet!! When I was growing up we had the red plate tradition. My mom still uses it when our birthdays roll around.
Cute!
