Happy New Year!

I enjoy reading your posts even though I am in a very different phase of motherhood. It is a time of much reflection…four out of five boys are grown and forging their own path in the world. Their relationships with God have become their own (and not just what I told them) and everything they believe is being tested in the reality of His light shining on their paths. You are wise to spend this time investing in them. You cannot spend too much time loving them, hugging them, talking to them, and writing those letters you talked about. It is within the heart of a mother to pour out her life into her children…and as an "aged" mom I found something out a bit later than I would have liked – To whatever extent we pour yourselves, we must be sure to pour even more into our relationship with God. I thought my boys were the focus of my parenting…I was wrong. The focus of parenting, and all of life, is God. He is faithful to work out the details!May you and your family be richly blessed throughout this new year!
