Thanks to everyone who joined in last week. It was fun to read your Five Things!

Today, we’re talking about something that made us laugh.

After you write your post and link back here (you can copy my button above), add your link to the list below. Then have some fun stopping by each other’s sites, and be sure to comment while you’re there.

I’m looking forward to reading about what made you laugh or smile!

Here’s what had me cracking up recently:

I love American Idol, but I don’t love the amount of commercials that air during the show.

So instead of watching it live, we always record it and then watch it when we get a chance, usually a day or two later.

It’s great to be able to skip the commercials.

A couple weeks ago, before we’d had a chance to watch the latest episode, I was catching up on things on my computer and saw someone post on twitter

“Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground.”

and I thought…

What?! Why is someone tweeting about pants on the ground?

Then, a little while later, there was another one, “Pants on the ground,”

and another…

and I knew I had to be missing something, but I had no clue what it was.

Fast forward two days later, when I finally had time to watch American Idol and see Larry Platt sing “Pants on the Ground,” and not only was I cracking up at his song (I loved it so much I kept rewinding it!), I was laughing even harder because I finally got what everyone had been tweeting about that night. It just took me a while.  :)

(I thought Larry’s audition was great. Didn’t you?)

  1. I haven't been able to catch up on American Idol here yet – they normally screen it here after it has finished for you guys… so I just have to hope that no-one says who wins!

  2. I've heard the pants thing but don't watch the show. :-) So I haven't heard the audition, just about it.Don't you love to laugh? It feels so good.

  3. Okay, THANK YOU for explaining that to me because I've been seeing it on FB and I thought everyone was going crazy since we don't watch TV. LOL!Blessings,Kim

  4. Haha!! I was going to use this one! It was so funny and I'm sure one of those things that will be talked about for years:)

  5. I think I am the only person in America who thinks that song is brilliant. I could not agree more! Kids need to pull their pants UP!!!:)Blessings-Amanda

  6. Yep I think all the boys, men who like to have their pants to the ground need to listen to that song and pull them up!I'm a Saints fan and when it was the Championship game between the Vikings and us, the Who Dat Nation came up with Favre on the ground! lol That was funny because everytime he hit the ground, they chanted it!

  7. Well at least I'm not the only one who didn't know what was going on at first! :)I am loving your "laughing" posts, everyone. Thanks for the great laughs this morning. Looking forward to more!

  8. Genny, this looks like such a fun link up…it's my first time visiting your blog, I'll be back! :)

  9. Genny, I did not see that audtion live either…I think I ended up seeing it on the Today show, and then I finally felt "in" on the joke as well!

  10. Hey, Genny, I already blogged today so just wanted to throw this in a comment. I was driving home today from school drop-off and saw two Great Danes meet up on their morning walk. The whole time I was watching (red light), and their owners were talking, those two HUGE dogs were nose-to-nose, and their tails COULDN'T STOP WAGGING. They were just so happy to see each other. Yes, I laughed. :)

  11. That is too funny : ) My husband and I only watch the auditions but not the rest because after awhile we think it just gets old. But after that aired that guy was on the View which I never missed. Then later that day my three yr old came up to me singing it. I laughed so hard when I realized what he was singing. Was the cutest thing EVER : )Thanks for entering the Beth Moore Giveaway!

  12. I have needed to laugh so hard today! Thank you so much. I love AI! I am your newest follower. I hope you will follow back as well! VERY cute blog!

  13. That is funny, you made me laugh just thinking about those things. Love American Idol!!!Following you back!
