Genny lives in California with her husband and two kids and is the author of four children's books. She's an Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and edits a regular column in the North/Central California SCBWI newsletter, The Acorn. 

Two of Genny's manuscripts have received awards, including her middle grade novel, Give and Take, which received Honorable Mention in the 2009 Sue Alexander Awards.

In addition to her children's writing, Genny's work has been published in the book Kirtsy Takes a Bow: A Celebration of Women's Favorites Online.
